The King's Dream Street Team!

In today's world of music marketing, the term "street team" has become a catch phrase for many artist and record labels. Street teams are recruited and engaged to get the "word" out to millions of music fans. Simply stated, it’s "buy our music." Yep, it’s all about the artist or label’s desire. It’s a win, win proposition for the artist or label only. This ploy was first championed by the majors to help in stuffing their pockets. So in turn, the independents follow suit. What's good for the goose should work for the gander.

Easy conclusion if you operate with an “all about me attitude.” How many labels can say that their street team gimmick is rewarding for thousands of competing artists rather than self. Maybe a member or two might receive some small meaningless token but the sum total leaves a lot to be desired. Is there any label on the planet that is not totally self-centered? Of course…the answer is Millennium Music Mission Records. M3 Records has just began to embark on the development of their physical street team, yet the label has already established itself as a leader in the industry with the internationally syndicated “Pro Flow Fa-Sho Show” (www.ProFlowRadio.com). “Good looking out” to M3 for not promoting artists only associated with the M3 label. Good looking out to M3 for bringing much needed fan attention to other artists via the vehicles constructed online and offline. Remain true to the mission. Aiding the growth of independent music is paramount at M3 according to Nujam (C.E.O.). "It’s the reason behind the label's existence." What is being done to support this claim? Well, M3's efforts, spearheaded by President of Operations MaD MaXxx a.k.a. MaxHeat, dedicates a generous amount of time, energy and money to benefit thousands of artists. Time and energies that could be spent solely on promoting their shockwave production company is devoted to generating more exposure for indie artists daily. MaXxx uses his expertise in radio / music engineering, web and graphic design as well as international collaborations to advance the careers of others, all for free.

Couple all of those professional skills with resources like computer access, disk space storage, sponsorship with "Pro Flow Radio" financing and thus they manifest something unheard of in music history. Their global venture to bring the independents to audiences in the United States, Canada, UK and Africa clearly establishes MaxHeat and Millennium Music Mission Records as second to none in promoting artists to the vast public.

Now knowing all of the facts relating to today’s street teams, do you see the light? Can you hear the beautiful majestic music? How are you inclined to vote? If you want to help more than less, then there is really only one viable option. Good looking out! Go with M3 & ProFlowRadio.com.

Riskay Bio
Florida Drama Queen

Riskay is one of the hottest female rap artists in the South. She hails from the small town of Bartow, FL but is destined to do big things. She was first introduced to the music business by Bigg Baby, a rapper, songwriter, and producer, in 1998. Back then she didn't have much interest in being an artist, but was very enthusiastic about the business side of the music industry.

She later became interested in being an artist when Bigg Baby was working on “Trina’s” previously released album “Diamond Princess.” Bigg Baby had been looking for a female rapper for a long time but could not find any that took rapping seriously. Bigg Baby approached Riskay with the idea of her rapping and she decided to try it out. She began her career as an artist in a group called Blue Chipz now known as County Mobb where she was the only female rapper in the group.

While recording in Orlando, Florida at Clientele Studio’s, Florida rapper and producer White Dawg needed a female feature for his new song “Pop- A-Pill”. This song received tons of radio airplay and spins in the club throughout the entire state of Florida. He liked her sound so much that he asked her to feature on two more songs off his up and coming third release: “Bonified Platinum.” The songs are titled “Bonified” and “I Don’t Need” featuring Slip-N-Slide recording artist Duece Poppi.

Following the success of "Pop-A-Pill", she put out the answer song “Pay Up”, to Youngbloodz single “DAMN,” which had gained her much attention from the Youngbloodz themselves as well as underground music circuits in Georgia and all throughout Florida.

For those who do not know about “Riskay,” they soon will. Her sound is definitely unique and she speaks on topics that all females can relate to no matter where they're from. She plans to wreak havoc on the rap industry by combining dynamic lyrics on top of well-produced tracks. She is currently working on her first debut album titled “Kay-O-tic” set to be released in 2005 and is expected to feature on many more tracks with some of the industry's top artists in the up and coming year. Riskay will definitely give fans of rap music a sound that is compelling and intense so be sure to keep an eye on 'The Drama Queen,' she's definitely making some major moves in front of and behind the scenes!

Music Marketing Tips
Less is more

Today's technology makes it very tempting to add layer upon layer. The side effect is your song or production gets rather dense and cluttered. Sometimes you must step back, reevaluate, and strip it down. Heed the advice of award-winning recording and mixing engineer Ed Cherney (Stones, Clapton, and Raitt): "Listen to what's there, see where the song is, [and] eliminate things to find the heart of the song. Ultimately, mixing is about heart, not equipment. Nobody dances to what kind of gear you used."

A clear mind creates stronger music. Also, take time away. A mix made after ten hours of tracking rarely sounds good to rested ears. Tired ears = bad mix. So, make sure you take a break. And then return to your mix with fresh ears.
